Dupuytren’s Contracture Fasciectomy

Procedure to relieve Dupuytren’s Contracture

Dupuytren’s contracture, also known as Dupuytren’s disease, is a hand condition where the finger/s become difficult to straighten and start to bend inwards towards the palm. It occurs when protein-filled lumps (nodules) create a thick cord that pulls taut underneath the skin, making it difficult to extend the finger/s and they lose function. Dupuytren’s Fasciectomy is a surgical procedure that ranges from a simple cut to the fibrous band in the palm to removing all the affected skin and replacing it with skin grafts.
