Early into my career as a physiotherapist , I found a passion for working with patients with neurological conditions. Since 2009 I have enjoyed a successful career covering a wide range of specialist areas, including neurosurgery, stroke and neuromedical.
I love working with my clients and seeing them progress towards achieving their rehabilitation goals or successfully managing their progressive neurological conditions. I am a strong believer in a holistic approach to therapy, helping them set realistic goals and achieve a level of independence and control whilst maximising their neuromuscular ability.
One of the main drivers of my therapy is to improve the quality of my client’s lives, aided by developing a therapeutic partnership with each of them and with us both striving for the best outcome.
I keep abreast of new ideas and developments to ensure my clinical practice is up to date. To this end, I have taken several post graduate courses that complement my therapeutic treatment, including postural assessments and the Bobath approach to therapy. I am also a qualified acupuncturist which is a useful tool for management of pain.
My current interests include neuromuscular electrical stimulation to optimise neuromuscular recovery.
Outside of work I like to keep busy. I enjoy running for both my physical and mental health and I enjoy a challenge so always try to be signed up to some kind of running event!
I love being outdoors and can often be found with my family camping in a field, looking for an adventure!
