I am an experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist and was appointed to my current position at West Herts in 2008. I am currently clinical lead for Gastroenterology Services at West Herts, having previously been both clinical lead and training lead. I am secretary of the oesophageal section of the British Society of Gastroenterology.
I have a busy NHS and private practice and see patients with all GI conditions, including heartburn and reflux, irritable bowel syndrome, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, constipation and irritable bowel syndrome.
I have a special interest in diseases of the upper GI tract including heartburn, reflux, Barrett’s oesophagus and oesophageal and gastric cancer. I was awarded an MD following a period of research into disease progression in GORD. I set up and run the interventional endoscopy service at West Herts for treatment of early oesophageal cancer including radiofrequency ablation and endoscopic resection. I was upper GI cancer lead for the Trust having only recently relinquished this role to take on the clinical lead role for the department for the second time. I also run the oesophageal physiology service in the Trust.
I see patients with all gastrointestinal conditions but have a particular interest in seeing patients with heartburn, indigestion and swallowing problems.
I live locally in Hertfordshire and when not working enjoy keeping fit with running and cycling, spending time with my family and playing golf.
