Dr Elizabeth Adesugba is a highly qualified hearing and balance specialist with over 13 years’ experience in private and NHS audiological care. She is an experienced lecturer nationally and internationally on topics such as anatomy and physiology, audiology and NHS professions.
She trained in Audiology at the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital (RNTNE) London and proceeded to obtain a clinical doctorate in Audiology with Nova Southeastern University Florida. Dr Adesugba opened her private audiology practice, Jovon Hearing Limited, in 2009 and provides the latest technology assessment and treatment strategies in hearing and balance.
She serves as an expert witness in audiology and maintains professional membership in the following organizations:
• British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists (BSHAA)
• Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
• British Academy of Audiology (BAA)
Dr Adesugba is also a council member of the British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists (BSHAA)
Services provided include the following: Hearing Tests, Tympanometry and Reflex Testing, Videonystagmography (Oculomotor tests including saccades, smooth pursuits and Gaze Testing), Positional Testing, Dix-Hallpike for BPPV, Repositioning Manoeuvres, Vertebral Artery Screening, Video Head Impulse Testing (VHIT), Vestibular Rehabilitation, Hearing Aid Fittings, Tinnitus Management and Hearing Protection (Including Musician Earplugs and Swim plugs).
Dr Adesugba has special interests and is highly skilled in Balance Assessments and Rehabilitation as well as Hearing Aid Fittings.
Her balance tests can help assess whether a balance condition is central or peripheral in nature which will be crucial for determining the appropriate treatment to be applied. If the patients balance condition in peripheral/ vestibular in nature and uncompensated, she is able to offer vestibular rehabilitation immediately.
She is trained in musician, occupational and general hearing protection. Dr Adesugba also has a particular interest in tinnitus management and is keen to see people being managed appropriately for this as she notes there is evidence-based help for this condition.
Dr Adesugba is very passionate about Audiology and is dedicated to making sure her patients get the very best personalised care.
She loves music and sings in a gospel choir at the weekends.
